The Wichita State Men’s Shocker basketball team is celebrating another amazing season. Right now, this talented group of men are in St. Louis preparing for their first game in the Missouri Valley Conference. As a proud supporter of Shocker athletics, Comfort Systems recently had our own sponsored game night at the roundhouse. We treated employees, vendors, and even lucky Facebook contest winners to a night of food, fun, and frenzied entertainment on the court.

Over the past few years, Coach Gregg Marshall has assembled a team of superstar players who continue to impress on and off the court. He’s given the city more pride and brought new fans to the game.  ~General Manager, Chad Heitman

Thursday, February 18 was Comfort Systems night at Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers played rival Missouri State, a game previously postponed due to bad weather. We wanted to make sure the audience had a little something to remember us by so we gave out cool magnetic Shocker schedules. Meanwhile, in the SASO room (Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization) VIP guests dined on delicious food from B&C Barbeque including brisket, pulled pork, wings, and more.

Facebook Shocker VIP Experience winners Joe and his son, Connor (a Shocker first-timer) received premium seating, access to the SASO room for all-they-could-eat Barbeque, and Shocker t-shirts. Connor’s smile was infectious. When we saw him later in the game, he seemed to be mesmerized by all the action. It’s hard to look away when the Shox are in the zone!

It was a wonderful feeling to treat friends, family, and colleagues to this fun experience, but our favorite part was being able to give back to the community. During the game, General Manager, Chad Heitman, presented a donation check of $300 to Glenn Jones from Air Capital Flyers. Air Capital Flyers is a not-for-profit organization and premiere Special Olympics team representing the state of Kansas. “It was great to meet Glenn and shake his hand,” said Chad. “Our whole team felt blessed that we had the opportunity to help with this cause.”

“The whole night went so fast,” said Chad. “From receiving the signed game ball, to the final winning shot, it was just a blur.” Chad would like to say a personal thank you to General Manager of Shocker Sports Properties – Mark Rogers, for his outstanding hospitality. Quick shout out to special guests of the night including Key Construction, Jaco General Contractors, Evans Building Company, Design Build Construction, Conco Construction, Fidelity Bank, and Lee Media Group.

Comfort Systems continues its 2016 Shocker sponsorship by celebrating the boys of summer. Tuesday, April 26, the Men’s Shocker Baseball team takes on K State and we’ll be there. This will be an all-employee event to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our team.

Tomorrow, the Shockers play their first game at Arch Madness! Good luck, fellas. We can’t wait to watch you represent your city once again. GO SHOX!
